hi everyone. i've been considering on purchasing a couple of piece of equipment for my studio and i have some questions i hope you all can answer:
1) for you pro tool users- i'm thinking about purchasing a apple g5 computer, an m-box, and a roland studio package pro (24-track). is there any other software i need to purchase to start recording/burning my tracks?
2) does the fantom-s have the same capabilites as an mpc-2000xl?

The Mbox will give you PTLE (go for the factory bundle if you can, as you'll really like MAXIM and the Joe Meek plug-ins), which is all you really need to record, edit and mix your tracks. You could always buy some additional plug-ins (Waves, T-Racks, Ozone, etc.), but you don't *really* need them to start recording and burning tracks.

If you want to burn Redbook audio CDs, you'll need software like Roxio's Toast with Jam or Bias's Peak (which I think comes iwth Jam already). Otherwise, you can just use iTunes to burn your tracks onto CDs (but they won't be Redbook).

I've never used an mpc-2000xl, so can't help you there.

I would really do the research on that M-Box, I've read some ok reviews and some bad comments.
