Difference between RD-700NX and RG-1 F?

Difference between RD-700NX and RG-1 F?

Can someone point out the difference between the 2 keyboards? I'm not asking for the obvious, it's quite understandable one is a stage piano with lots of sounds while the other is a baby grand focused on piano sounds.
I'm mainly interested in the keyboard touch and delivering a real piano response.
My piano upright is aging and I want to sell it and get something similar (for studying at home). I'm not going to get something in the 4000+ bracket since at that price I might get a real upright instead of a digital. V-piano is nice but this board is going to stay at home anyway so.... I'm not interested in portability.

Thanks in advance!

they both have the supernatural pinao and pha III keybed.. both will sound great and play great.. tho it may be that the tonal character of the rg1f can be broader than the rd cos of the lid etc

in general tho i think its a question of stage pinao vs mini-grand and any details in tone lists, features etc.

If ure a piano player get a real piano or VPiano. Althought the RD and digital babygrand sounds nice it gets too repetitive as it's still based on samples. Touch and dynamics is everything. VPiano definitely delivers in both areas and you can play at night in private.

My wife retired her yamaha piano and now plays my VPiano. She's not looking back. For me I like more variety in sound and more of a EP player so other stagepiano's suites me better.

Well, I've got a Bluthner upright that looks like this one: http://www.thomann.de/gb/bluethner_modell_b.htm . It's not exactly that one because it's almost 100 years old. He's holding back admirably for its age but I'm afraid I have to do something soon.
My options are: to invest money and repair it (hoping it will perform like new) OR selling it after repairs. I don't really like this variant because I don't know how much the repairs would cost, I cannot foresee the end result and I'm not sure at all if I can recoup the amount invested when I will sell it.
Another option would be to sell it as it is and put some extra money to get (1) either another upright or (2) a digital one. As I said, portability is not an issue since I mainly need it for home study. I need something that ressembles a real piano as much as possible while the cost should be as minimum as possible (I don't want to pay a fortune for a home instrument).
It's not the samples or the sound that might dissuade me from using a certain board or type of instrument, but the touch / feeling.

yah, that's definitely a nice upright you got. i suppose if it doesnt have sentimental value i might suggest you sell your current piano and perhaps get a newer but used upright to keep the cost down? if it has sentimental value i would talk to piano service stations and ask for quotes.

if you're going to go digital the VPiano is definitely the way to go since you are a piano player. :)

the sample based piano's sound wonderful and while you might enjoy the sound as if you're a 3rd person listening to yourself play, the playability is just not as realistic as a VPiano. the way the tone changes based on your touch is not very convincing and it becomes redundant after a while.

for instance if you hit a note repetitively on your sample based piano you keep hearing the same tone variation whereas on a VPiano, the tone character continues to change infinitely just like a real piano.

the downside of the VPiano is not much variation of piano's. if you dont like the sound of its virtual strings you dont like the sound of this piano. there are different piano modeling inside, but they are all based on the same distinct sound.

hope this helps. :)
