If the card works fine in your Triton it probably is just incompatible with the Fantom. I think you'll have to try a new card or adaptor.

New adapter didn't do anything for me. Can I verify that the CF card should be compatible? It's a:

SanDisk Ultra II - 1GB

I really don't know now, Chocojoe. Did you buy one of the adaptors that dbijoux linked to?

I'm beginning to wonder it the PCMCIA socket on your Fantom could be at fault

For now, I've decided to just give up on the issue. Hopefully it won't be too bad using the Fantom w/o a card. Thanks for the help though!

Did you try to read that card on a PC with an adapter?
More, if you have a friend with an old laptop that has PCMCIA, you can test the card, and the PCMCIA-CF card in the same time...
