Where do you put your sheet music playing the JS?

Where do you put your sheet music playing the JS?

Hi all, today I got my Juno Stage. I played with it a lot and even got it to crash once (total system lockup, power cycle needed to revive it). Maybe I pushed a wrong button. Anyway, it was only once.

I also have a Roland EP which will be replaced by the Stage. And for all-round stuff I still have my Yamaha PSR. I love my Stage sounds, its piano patches are very good. But.. I can not figure out where to put my sheet piano music while playing. It differs from the PSR and EP - there is no music stand on the JS!

Do you ever play from sheet music? If yes, where do you leave your paperworks??? Any creative solutions?

Hi, I don't have a JS, but I do have the same problem. I use an adjustable, stand-alone music stand placed behind my normal keyboard stand.
I understand that several companies like Quiklok sell keyboard stand add-ons that are music stands. Could be worth looking into.
Hope this helps

Andy thanks for the suggestion. A stand alone music stand would be possible at home, will try that first. I have some doubts though if I can remember all the piano notes on a gig. And a stand alone music stand is not cool on stage...
I will try to find a snap-on music stand for my Roland V-stand. It seems there is an additional upper part/shelf available .. however with Roland price levels..

Hey Erwin1234!

Do you have a laptop? Convert your music to jpg images! A laptop tends to look a little cooler than a music stand! =)

Aarggh! Mid gig death by PowerPoint! :o)

I do occasionally use bits of paper blu-tacked to my upper keyboard. A tip, though: only use black ink. Others (especially red) disappear under stage lighting, as I have found to my cost in the past ("those weren't mistakes, they were atonal improvisations").

The laptop idea is cool :) However, laptop screens are quite small compared to three sheets of music taped together. In the mean time I have bought a black sheet music stand as used by a conductor in an orchestra. It has a metal plate with holes in it and a thick sturdy stand. It was quite cheap too.

piaknowguy, what do you use to turn pages your laptop. I keep meaning to pick up one of these page turner pedals.

Being a cabinetmaker by trade, I made a plywood mockup of a full length music shelf (think upright piano) that fits on top of my keyboard stand under my X8 and rises just above the unit to give me room for 6 sheets side by side. That was two years ago and never did make a finished product although when I do I will probably make it hinged to act as a dust cover also.
