Connect keyboard to laptop

Excuse in advance my ignorance:

How do i go about connecting my laptop to the RD-700GX, in order to work with the Sonar LE software? I cannot seem to get the laptop to discover the keyboard. Can someone advise me on a quick step-by-step procedure please.

you need to install the driver CD before plugging the keyboard in, i think. If you look in the documentation it does go through it step by step.

Once you have installed the MIDI driver it's just a simple matter of connecting the two with a USB cable.

You may want to then make sure that Roland RD is selected, for both In and Out, in the 'MIDI Devices' selections in the Options menu in SONAR.
