Changing part assignments simultaneously in XT

Changing part assignments simultaneously in XT

24 May 2009, 13:24
Hi.

Does anyone know if there is a way of assigning the same patch to a selected group of parts in the "patch information" screen, at the same time? That is, instead of going from part to part to change the patch value.

Thanks. Regards.

Hi,
If I understood it well, in patch mode screen:
1- Go to Menu
2- Choose Info
3- In the **Info**rmation screen you can assign the patches to Parts.
4- Even if you change Part 1 (the only one being accessed by the Main Patch screen), you will keep the other Patches assigned to the parts assigned in point 2. However you have to remember that the Effects (FX, Reverb and Chorus) used by Part1, will be used on the other Parts too, as there is only one Effects Processor for the Whole V-Synth.

I hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. What I want to do is, in the same info page, change several parts to the same patch at the same time. It is a bit cumbersome to go part by part to change all the parts I am using.

I am currently sending SysExs from my DAW for this, but it would be nice to do it using the XT itself.

Regards.

Sorry fort the triple post, but I only replied once...strange

And indeed I did not understand your problem in the first place... ;-)

I don't know any other way to do that on the XT itself, if you need layered parts...

If you were talking about non Layered parts, in that case you should use Zones... but that's not what you want, is it ?

For each zone you define a Part using the Patch Copy function. However you have to remember that the Effects (FX, Reverb and Chorus) used by Part1, will be used on the other Parts too, as there is only one Effects Processor for the Whole V-Synth.
