Keyboard in Sunlight

My Fantom is usually in sunlight all the time because it is next to a window. I know that's not a good thing and want to put a long cloth over it to protect it while the shades are open.

What color blocks sunlight best?

If you want to leave it covered most of the time, I would recommend a synthetic cover layer (nylon, microfiber, etc.) with a thick white cotton terry on top. This will protect from dust, heat and be an extra measure against accidental spills. I there is a seamstress (or someone with a modicum of sewing skills) in your life, it would be easy to fix something up. They also sell commercial covers, but Nathan's advice on the heat gain should be heeded.

my keyboard sits in direct sunlight and I woke up today with my screen faded right where the sun hits it...
(I left it on when I went to sleep) and I just shut it off for a while...the sun spot had disapeared...has this happened to anyone else?

honeyshape is correct. Liquid Crystal Displays can be damaged by excessive heat (and physical pressure, though this is not much of a concern on the Fantom as it is protected by a piece of thin "Plexi-Glass" in front of it). I'd suggest at least covering the LCD if it's going to be in direct sunlight for any length of time.
