control mfx-intensity via midi
19 Nov 2008, 15:35Hi everyone!
i would be glad if you could help me out with some midi-related problems.
I have the SC for two weeks now to get rid of the internal sounds of my yamaha p80 stagepiano
To have some control over it, i also bought a used midi-floorboard. Most of my demands i could solve, and i feel already quite convenient with the editor and how the SonicCell is controlled via midi but there is one problem left:
i would like to control the intensity of some mfx (e.g. distortion) from dry to wet with the foot-controler of the floorboard. In most MFX, you can control the output level but this mutes the sound instead. Afaik, routing allows you to either go through mfx or L+R but not both. i also cant route to 2 mfx slots in parallel (which would then take up 2 slots).
The only solution i can think of: assign the patch to 2 parts where one goes to mfx, one to L+R and control the level of one part reversed. But this takes up the double amount of voices and it becomes ugly to adjust anything within the parts as you have to do everything twice. by the way, this seems like a dirty workaround to me and im perfectionist
maybe theres an easy way, such tasks are ment to be dealt with, which i just havent discovered?
Thank you very much so far
If i can help with what i know up to now, im glad to do so!
Happy playing to everyone
