Solo Synth D-Beam
6 Oct 2008, 17:54Has anybody actually managed to get something other than a godawful whine out of this yet? I find the options for manipulating the solo synth on the D beam woefully inadequate for getting anything that sounds halfway decent.
On the plus side, when it comes to monkeying around with the D-beam as an assignable controller for other synth sounds, by increasing the pitch bend range, and the D-beam sensitivity, with the appropriate light conditions I can get a fairly decent emulation of a theremin going by controlling volume by pressing/changing keys on the G's keyboard, and pulling off massive bends on the D-beam - by using only bend up, and a nice slow glide, I can actually slow the bends going down by bending up on the D-beam at the same time. The G's built in theremin-esque synth has a really nice wail, too.
