Performance won´t save. Forces me to save a modified patch.

Hi everyone.

Hope this question has not been asked before.

I have this performance that I created with Chocolate EP and FM bells.

I tried to edit the Choloate EP patch to lower the gain of the 1st tone. When I come back to the part view in performance mode, the patch seems to be modified as it shows the * next to it. Everything perfect so far.

When I try to save the performance, it tells me "warning: modifications on patch Chocolate EP will be discarded". If I continue I miss the modifications.

The only way I have in order to not loose the modifications is save the patch in the patch user area.

My question is: Isn´t there a way that the performance "remembers" the modifications needed to be applied to each patch when is pulled up instead of beoing forced to save and fill the patch user area with each modificated patches to be used in the performance ?.

In other words, can´t the performance engine pull up the original patch and apply the modifications in real time ?.

All is correct. You modified a patch, not the performance. If you save your project as a song, you do not need to worry about anything. But if you want to put the sounds in the USER or CARD bank, you need to first save the patches and then the performance.

The thing is that I don´t want to waste my precious user space every time I create a performance with modified ROM patches.

What I´m asking is: is there any way the performance pulls the original patch up from the ROM banks and apply the modifications in real time without the need of saving them in the patch user area first?.

do just like Artemio suggested. Save a song instead of writing the Performance. Everytime you call that song it will bring everything you want

But wouldn´t be cool if the fantom can do real time patch modifications in performance mode ?.

I think that should be something to take into account for the next fantom

well,
I think I know what you mean but... wouldn't that make the USER area useless?

Anyway, if you go to Part View - Offset , there are some Patch parameters that can edited. So you get the best of both worlds

Ohh I´ll try that out.

Well, patch user area are for patches that are really modificated, or totally different from the original ones. I see no point in storing a barely modified patch that sounds almost the same as the original.
