You will need a proper cable of course, I sample from my ipod so I use a stereo 1/8 to a pair of 1/4's cable to go from the output of the ipod to the stereo inputs on my X6. Then I just hit the sampling button and hit play on my ipod, and adjust the signal levels. Then I sample what I want, getting a little extra before and after, so I can trim it down using the Fantom's built in tools.

Jay this is so easy to do that even I can sample any sound from the onternet using my laptop and using an audi out cable to the line in cable and hi sample record

I am sampeling tons of things and it is very easy

Guy buy 512 mg or memory and gewt a pc adaptor card to save the samples onto - 1 gig works fine

make sure that the sample is recorded as near to peak volume as you can get. or else it's gonna be distorted or too quiet and gain noise when you amp it
Thanks a lot......have u sampled any of your favorite lines from a song and added some effects to it???

This machine is crazy. I use some line in audition with "C.Canceler" effect, giving me the chance to cancel the vocalist and some other instruments, depending on the eq.settings. Invaluable for cover bands, having this option in the FX. We can just listen online with the whole band to clarify chords etc.
All before sampling..
love the FX.
