Cannot save Tempo value

Cannot save Tempo value

Hi there,
I am trying to use a short RPS sniplet with one of my Performances.
According to your many advisories, I save all data (Perf etc) in a SONG File (SVQ).
My problem is to fix the TEMPO to my needs, I always end with a Song Tempo from 120 beats after re-loading my song, which might be the factory default tempo value. After plenty days studying the manual and reading relevant posts in this excellent forum, I gave up.

I do not want to change tempo in real time, just use a fixed tempo for my song.
Here is, what I've done:

- Init Performance
- Set Part 1 Patch to anything sound
- Set keyboard range appropriately
- Set PerfCtrl/Recommended Tempo from initially 120 to 99
- Set Tempo to 99 via Tempo Button
- Record a Pattern (Song Edit/Pattern Button/PTN0001 / Record the stuff)
- Replay, everthing is alright - sounds good, Tempo is still 99
- Save Song

Now, load any other song or switch device off. Then,

- Load above mentioned song
- Tempo is 120 !!!
- everything else is ok (KeyRange, Part ...)

Going to Microedit the Song, TEMPO Track has one entry, TEMPO=120
Even if I change this data to 99, after SAVE and LOAD SONG it will be again 120 !

TEMPO OVERRIDE in TEMP Setting is OFF, which I don't care because Performance Tempo is also set to 99. But I switched it to ON with no change on behaviour.

Please help! It's strange. It is my new OS 2.10 / AudioTrackExp X6.

I changed the subject, maybe there is no one other with this prob ?

when you hit REC set the TEMPO REC SW to ON (generally this is set to OFF) so you will "record" the Tempo setting into the sequencer and you'll be fine

I've noticed this behaviour in every version of the OS. I think it is not putting a BPM at the beginning of the tempo track unless you have at least one bar recorded in the song tracks. Yes, you can micro edit the tempo track, but it never saves the tempo you dial in if the song length is 0.

You could record one blank bar in the song and then it will save the tempo. This can then be your template for new songs.

Cheers,
B

yes, that's it! If I record one blank bar, Tempo is well recorded. Recording some Pattern for RPS is not enough for that.
Thanks a lot, B.
